Patient Care in 2009
A Health Information Exchange Conference
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA),
passed in February 2009, establishes substantial investments in health
information technology. These investments seek to leverage technology
to spur advances in health care quality. The Connecting
California to Improve Patient Care conference features
speakers with direct experience in successful deployment and operation
of health information technology, as well as policy leaders who are
establishing new parameters for patient centered care.

Live NHIN-enabled Gateway Demonstration by CAeHC
California eHealth Collaborative (CAeHC)
presents a live demonstration of five California Health Information
Exchanges (HIE) using separate NHIN-enabled gateways, showing both the secure
exchange of clinical data as well as the breakthrough potential of
the new CONNECT federal
gateway, which was released in April 2009 under an open source
license.
